Get ready for a kid-powered celebration of dance, freedom, and solidarity as Wee The People and Haitian master choreographer Jean Appolon team up for a special edition of Rise Up!/ Leve!: Celebrating the Haitian Revolution of 1804 to close out the Greater Roxbury Book Fair!
Through music, stories, and dance, we will kick off the countdown to one of Haiti's biggest national holidays -- Haitian Flag Day on May 18 -- and time-travel to explore the slave revolt that defeated Europe's most powerful armies and inspired freedom struggles around the world.
