About the event
Through music, stories, and craft-making, we will kick off Haitian Heritage Month and time-travel to explore the slave revolt that defeated Europe's most powerful armies and birthed the first Black republic in the New World. Kids will make Haitian Hero Shields adorned with the colors of the Haitian flag and some of the revolution's famous freedom fighters.
